Unforgettable

14 Yet Jerusalem says, “The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.” 15 “Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?  Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?  But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!  16See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands.  Isaiah 49: 14 – 16 (NLT)

Mission in San Juan Capistrano by Heather Harshman

Sometimes we can feel very alone in life; like God is way up in heaven, not noticing or caring about what we’re going through.  We think, why would God pay attention to me?  He has a lot of other things to take care of and I’m easily forgettable.  But nothing could be farther from the truth.  God is the ultimate multi-tasker. He watches over everyone and everything all of the time.  Not only does he know what we are doing at every moment of every day, he knows our every thought, and even the number of hairs on our heads.  He feels our pain and joy.  Our hopes, desires, fears, and pains are his pleasure and concern.  He has had great plans for us since we were in our mothers’ wombs, and is eagerly waiting for us to live them out.  Our names are written on the palms of his hands so that he will always think of and care for us, no matter where we are or what we may be going through.

Is something holding you back from accepting that God cares for you as his greatest creation?  How can you work through that to embrace the love he is extending to you?
